Anglia Region Trefoil launches the Hautbois Lift
We’ve Done it!

Following on from our successful Chairman’s Meander around the Region last year Anglia Region Trefoil Guild has successfully raised the £35,000 needed for the Great Hautbois House Lift. The lift was opened officially by Jean Wheeler (past Region Trefoil Chairman) and Wendy Rider (past Chairman of the Hautbois House Management Committee) at the Region Trefoil House Party on 1st May 2007. More then 27 Trefoil members plus distinguished guests were there to see the ribbon cut. The lift was encircled with Trefoil Guild scarves as it took Jean and Wendy to the first floor. After the first
lift-off other Trefoil members and guests also enjoyed the experience of moving with ease between the ground and first floor.

This lift forms part of the re-development of Great Hautbois House which includes a new Dining / Training Room, Kitchen and Shop. The addition of the lift will provide easier access to the whole of the first floor and makes more beds available for people, young and old, with walking difficulties. The whole new development will be officially opened by the Chief Guide on 1st June 2007.
