A Cambs East Trefoil Guild Trip to Woburn

Woburn Trip

"On a blustery and rainy day in summer guild members were invited to join Bottisham and Burwell Guides on their day out to Woburn Safari Park.  The tour around the park included sightings of giraffes, elephants, zebra, rhino, bears, tigers, lions and monkeys.  Fortunately by the time it came to get off the coach and have lunch it had stopped raining.  The girls were allowed to go off in small groups and the guiders and guild members were free to enjoy themselves.  The Great Woburn Railway took us to see small animals, iguanas, snakes, marmosets and penguins, arriving back in time to see the antics of the seal show.  At last it was time to tackle the Swan Boat pedalos on the lake.  After a wobbly start and must hilarity we were off.  The wind it did blow and the rain it did rain but we were not to be deterred.   The knees of the chauffer guiders held out  and were rewarded with a much needed cup of tea and slice of cake.  Finally the all important souvenir shopping for those left at home and back on the bus.  The day was greatly enjoyed by all and we can't wait to be invited to next years outing."
