Girlguiding UK is a founder member of the World
Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, (WAGGGS), the largest
international voluntary organisation for girls and young women
with almost 10 million members in 144 different countries. WAGGGS
celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2003. To learn more visit the

World Centres
WAGGGS owns four World Centres situated in Switzerland, Mexico,
India and the UK. They are open to members (past and present)
of the Guide Association. Some have a lower age limit, which may
vary depending on the session. You can visit a World Centre either
for an organised session, holiday, or just drop in if you're passing.
They are all entirely different, and have different cultures,
but have one thing in common - they will offer you a warm welcome!

Publications
The Guide Association produce many publications to
give you ideas of how you can introduce international guiding
in your units.The latest
publication ‘Small World’ is aimed at Rainbows and Brownies.Also look out for ‘ A World of Ideas’, ‘Celebrating Thinking

There are also other publication produced.Many Regions produce their own books.North East England have a very good one on
Russia.
