Volunteer Support and Training
Training days for newly appointed Commissioners and their Mentors
Each year Girlguiding Anglia runs training days for newly appointed District and Division Commissioners and their Mentors. These days give those who have recently taken on the role the opportunity to meet other new Commissioners, to learn about the role and its responsibilities, to look at new resources available and to find out more about team building. The Commissioner training days are also a great opportunity to ‘air and share’ both good practice and any concerns that you may have with those in a similar role to you.
Each term we invite all newly appointed Commissioners in the Region to our upcoming training days, which are held at three locations across the Region. If you are a newly appointed Commissioner and would like to find out more, please contact the Girlguiding Anglia Office by clicking here.
Adult Leader Support
We run a number of training days for Adult Leaders throughout the year, including section specific training days. Please visit our events page to find out more.
Did you know that there a number of tools and resources available from Girlguiding to support you in your role, including e-learning modules which you can complete at home. Why not visit the Girlguiding website to find out more.
Trainers and Training
In Girlguiding Anglia we are proud to support over 80 Region Trainers and Prospective Trainers. All Trainers and Prospective Trainers hold, or are working towards, the Girlguiding Trainer Qualification which focuses on training for Girlguiding, leading and managing people, programme training and specialist subject knowledge. Trainers in the Region are supported by County support groups as well as the Region Adult Support Team.
Becoming a Trainer
Are you thinking about becoming a Trainer? Why not speak to your Commissioner or other Trainers in your County to find out more and hear about their experiences in the role. Visit the Girlguiding website to find out about the full range of training opportunities.
