TREFOIL
FUN AT HAUTBOIS
Thirty-nine Trefoil members from the
Region had great fun when they attended the Anglia Region Trefoil
House Party which was held at Great Hautbois House in Norfolk, the
Girlguiding Anglia Activity Centre.
They daily surprised themselves by taking
part in activities such as archery, canoeing, sliding down an aerial
runway, and doing craft activities. One afternoon they sailed along
the Norfolk Broads on an old paddle streamer, visited the Wroxham
Barns Craft Centre and shopped at Roy's of Wroxham.
The week was planned and organised by
Penny Holder and Jill Adams, and members welcomed many visitors
including Paula Hewitt, our new Region President, who talked about
her hobby with Doll's Houses.
Evenings were spent in renewing old friendships,
and holding a big beetle drive and a VE Party when members dressed
up in patriotic costumes.
During their time at the House Party
the members began to raise money for the Hautbois Lift Fund. This
is a project that the Region Trefoil Guild has taken on to provide
for a lift when the house is renovated. Their aim is to help to
get better access to the upper floors of the house to meet the needs
of future disabled, and older visitors to the centre. Their challenge
is to raise £35,000 by June 2006.
If you would like to help us reach this
target, then contributions, however large or small, can be made
out to the 'Trefoil Guild-Anglia Region' and sent to our Region
Trefoil Treasurer care of the Region Office at:
Girlguiding Anglia
7, Great Hautbois Road
