Virtual Peer Education topic training – Safe the world
Date: May 8th 11:00 - May 8th 15:15
Venue: Eventbrite and Zoom
We are helping girls make a stand for safety. Come and join us to uncover this new Peer Education topic in a special virtual session.
Girlguiding have recently released a new Peer Education topic, Safe the world, and we’re really excited to offer a virtual training session to allow existing Peer Educators to learn all about this new topic and be equipped to deliver sessions on this topic in the future.
To read more about the topic, the Girlguiding website has details. You’ll find a video to introduce the topic and a quiz to see how much you already know. Once you have familiarised yourself with the topic, you can book on our virtual training day on Sunday 8 May, starting at 11am to learn more. We expect the day to finish at about 3:15pm with plenty of time scheduled for lunch and breaks on the way.
Who? This is for existing Peer Educators in Girlguiding. Initially for Anglia members, this event is now open to any Peer Educator. You’ll learn all about the new Peer Educator topic, Safe the World, and be equipped to go out and deliver this session with the younger sections.
Where? Online – you’ll need to book on Eventbrite and then we will be using Zoom to deliver this training. You’ll need to be able to use your video and microphone. The link will be sent to you in email a couple of days before. The minimum age for Zoom is 16 so if you are under that you must join on a parent or carers account.
The session will be interactive and you’ll also get plenty of time for lunch and breaks.
Cost? The training is free however spaces are limited so please book a space. We expect demand to be high so please only book if you are certain you can attend. If an emergency arises, which means you cannot attend, please contact Events@girlguiding-anglia.org.uk in case we can offer your space to someone else. (This inbox is monitored during office hours Monday – Friday.)
How do I book? Just pop over to Eventbrite and click register then follow the details to fill in a simple form. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or carer to book your space. They should complete their details as the contact information and yours as the ticket information.
We know this date or format won’t suit everyone but we hope to work with other countries or regions to find you a session if you’d like one. If there is anything we can do to make this event more accessible for you, please do get in touch with us on the email address above or your county Peer Education coordinator.
