Inclusion team update – April 2025

At Girlguiding Anglia, we believe that inclusion isn’t just a goal—it’s a continuous journey. Our inclusion team has been working tirelessly to ensure that every member of our community receives the support and advice they need to feel valued, heard, and empowered.

Our dedicated inclusion page on the website is evolving, packed with valuable resources to help guide and support our members. Whether you’re looking for practical advice, guidance on inclusive practices, or simply want to learn more about how we are championing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), our webpage is the perfect place to start. Take a look here.

Highlights from our inclusion journey

Our inclusion team has been involved in some exciting developments, making meaningful strides toward ensuring that Girlguiding Anglia is a welcoming space for everyone. Here are some key highlights:

  • Ruby’s London visit – Our incredible inclusion lead volunteer, Ruby, recently spent the day at Girlguiding headquarters in London, where she met with the inclusion network from across the UK. This was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, share insights, and contribute to the EDI Strategic Plan for 2025.

  • New video clips coming soon! – Due for release in March on the Girlguiding website, these video clips will offer valuable advice on how to start conversations about additional support and work together on an adjustment plan. These resources will be a fantastic tool for leaders and volunteers, ensuring that everyone receives the support they need.
  • Spotlight on Pippa – Our very own Pippa from the Anglia inclusion team was recently featured in a Girlguiding video! A camera crew visited her unit in Hunstanton, Norfolk, to capture the fantastic work she and her fellow leaders are doing. We can’t wait to share the final video with you.

Continuing our commitment to inclusion

At Girlguiding Anglia, we remain dedicated to creating an environment where everyone is welcome, free to be themselves, and feels a deep sense of belonging—whoever they are and wherever they’re from. Our work doesn’t stop here, and we will continue to listen, learn, and grow as we strive to make our community as inclusive as possible.
