Spring into Action for Macmillan

Spring into Action for Macmillan

With one month to go until our wonderful partnership officially finishes, there are still lots of badges up for grabs and plenty of chances to organise events with your members to raise funds for Macmillan.  We want to say a massive thank you for all your hard work so far. Our members have raised over £31,000 with funds still coming in. That’s enough money to fund over 1000 Macmillan nursing hours!! Anglia members are truly amazing!

If you’re still yet to decide how to get involved or you simply want to earn more of the Macmillan challenge badges, then here are some ideas on how you can take part:

With spring just around the corner, why not ‘spring’ into action with a ‘Mile for Macmillan’ walk amongst daffodils? Or grab your scooters and head outside for some fresh air, fun and fundraising.

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and there are still ‘Coffee Morning‘  badges available so this could be the perfect opportunity to hold a fundraiser and treat those special females in our lives, who could resist if you tempted them with a showcase chocolate nest cake?

Or why  not plan for your unit to apply for the main ‘Macmillan Challenge’ badge with an Easter bonnet parade or egg painting competition?

Remember members can earn their ‘Volunteering’ badge for volunteering at a fundraising event  and you can still fund raise and get involved in activities beyond the end of March to support Macmillan.

The perfect end to our partnership could be to finish by earning your ‘Awareness‘ badge. You could either use the resources on the Girlguiding Anglia website for support,  or you could plan a fundraising event that also  allows you to shout about Macmillan and the great work they do. Macmillan are more than happy to support you with this, do get in touch for details.

Girlguiding Anglia will continue to sell the partnership badges until they have sold out and there are flexible ways to earn the badges that the retail team still have in stock. Please do get in contact if you want to check badge availability or need further advice.

Once again thank you to all our members that have taken part in volunteering their time and fundraising for Macmillan. Whether you’ve baked a cake, completed a mile, cleared up after a Dress Up and Dance evening or inspired your unit to take action for a good cause, you are inspiring and we couldn’t have completed this partnership without you #TogetherWeInspire #TodayTomorrowTogether
