Fiona Joines

Trainer Qualification Coordinator

How long have you been in Girlguiding?

Since I joined the Brownies.

Describe your journey leading up to your role:

I became a prospective trainer in 2005, loved it immediately and haven’t stopped training since. I added supporting new trainers later on and reviewing too, as well as adding webinar training to my toolkit,  before taking on the TQC role at the start of 2020, it felt like an obvious next step.

What do you enjoy the most in your role?

I love being able to work alongside the trainers across the organisation and in particular those in Anglia who so expertly share their skills with our volunteers, I’m always learning from them.

What do you enjoy the most about representing your county/region?

More recently, I have seen a shift towards a more collaborative approach between the countries and regions across the organisation and I love being a part of that.

Anything else you want to mention:

We are always on the look out for more volunteers to use their knowledge and skills to train others, do get in touch to chat about how you could be next to join the training team.
