Sue Trischitta

Joint International Adviser

How long have you been in Girlguiding?

Since my daughter wouldn’t stay at Brownies without me! Well over 25 years.

Describe your journey to being the Region International Lead Volunteer

My daughter went to Switzerland as a guide and came back full of the experience, so I volunteered to be part of the team for the next trip, that was the start of my international journey.

Anything that stands out, proud achievements

I have travelled to many parts of the world, visited 4 of the world centres and each trip has made me proud of being part of an organisation that offers the opportunity to its members to see, first hand, the full meaning of a worldwide organisation. I celebrated my 60th birthday in Mongolia at a Jamboree surrounded by Scouts and Guides from all over the world, amazing 😊

What do you enjoy the most in your role?

Sharing my enthusiasm with others and enabling members to experience the buzz of a international, Exploring the world from an armchair or in person , both offer a fantastic opportunity for personal growth and develop a sense of adventure.

Anything else you want to mention:

Every international experience starts with one step, make it part of your guiding experience, you won’t be disappointed!
