Rhymes, Riddles and Rambles Virtual Challenge 2020
We’re really excited to share the details of our new region creative challenge. This challenge has been designed by our Region Chief Commissioner, Tracy Foster.
Tracy said ‘I wanted to come up with a challenge that all our members could take part in, including Trefoil Guild. It would be wonderful to hear from voices across our region, through short stories, poems, limericks or any other style of creative writing. It’s great to provide an opportunity for our members to have some fun, link activities in to relevant parts of our programme and use our imagination. I can’t wait to read through the entries.’
This is a great opportunity to take part in a guiding challenge whilst we are all still restricted in our activities. We hope by taking part, members will feel a sense of belonging to our wider community, selected entries will be shared on social media so that members can enjoy reading entries too. We hope to be able to create a space on our region website to share all entries that we receive.
We’ve also come up with suggested links to the programme:
Rainbows: Rainbows could link this challenge to their Storyteller Interest Badge.
Brownies: Brownies could take this challenge further and integrate it in to their Performing Interest Badge
Guides: Guides could have a go at using their creative writing to support their Vlogging Interest Badge.
Rangers: Ranger’s could have a go at using this challenge alongside the Blogging Badge.
There are no restrictions on the subject, some of our ideas have been:
*My Guiding Light
*A poem about lock down
*A memory of coronavirus for my grandchildren
*Rainbows and thank you’s
All entries need to be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, please include Rhymes, Riddles and Rambles in the subject box.
