Sheila Beales

County Commissioner, Girlguiding Buckinghamshire (Joint)

My life in guiding began many years ago when I joined Wolverton Brownies.   My father who was a Scout in his youth encouraged me to embrace guiding as he had done with scouting. Who would guess what a journey it would take me on.

I have since become a Guide, Ranger, leader 40 plus years with the same unit, commissioner and advisor.

I think becoming county commissioner has been an honour and one I will embrace and do my best to enjoy, I would like to increase the enjoyment and inclusion of all members of the movement.

I firmly believe every member of Girlguiding is important, we must celebrate and recognise the commitment and achievements of all our members.

In my spare time I like to be creative; as a retired librarian I love to read and very late in life I have discovered a love of live music and festivals (Guide camp skills come in very handy).
