UK Parliament Week Official Partner of the year awards 2020

Girlguiding Anglia are thrilled to have been recognised as Highly Commended in the UK Parliament Week Official Partner of the year awards. The judges were very impressed by the high standard of the entries this year and our entry was awarded a fantastic certificate.

Thank you to every one of our members who took part and shared their stories and photos with us so that we could put together our award entry. More than 760 units registered to take part in last year’s UK Parliament Week.  Across the region, girls from all sections took part in writing manifestos debating, voting and ballot box activities. Many of you had visits from MP’s and other speakers and several units lobbied MP’s and councillors about local and national issues.

We hope that even more units will sign up this year, it will be our fourth year as UK Parliament Week partners so let us make it the biggest and best ever!  Our exclusive Anglia region pack has already been written and  this time, we are concentrating on the theme of influence, supporting you to speak out on the issues that matter to you and helping you to get involved, locally and nationally to make change happen. Use UK Parliament Week to think about issues that you feel are unjust, make you feel angry or annoyed, or a need for change in your local community.  It really does start with you!  We would love to win the campaign of the year award; we can do this if all our units take part in having their say and use the Anglia campaign hashtag #HaveYourSayGGA.

We look forward to seeing all your influencing activities and remember to use those hashtags #HaveYourSayGGA #UKPW
