How do you upload an external 1st response training?

We have a quick guide to help members upload their external training onto the learning platform. The quick guide can be found here.

How long does it take to get an external training verified?

When uploading an external 1st response, please ensure you allow a minimum of 21 days. This is to allow time for the region verifiers to review your upload and also to share any feedback which may require actions.

Whilst this process is taking place, please ensure you have an adult member who has a valid 1st response training at your unit meeting.

What evidence is required to upload an external 1st response training?

As long as the course certificate, completed form and a copy of the training syllabus has been uploaded and that the training has met the Girlguiding syllabus, the verifiers will be able to get the training updated.

You are only able to upload a maximum of 3 documents, if you have more than this, please combine them into fewer documents before uploading.

How do I know if the verifiers have left feedback?

An email is sent notifying that feedback has been left, to view the feedback you will be required to log back into the learning platform.

If further evidence is required, this help file here on how to do this. Once completed, email firstresponse@girlguiding-anglia.org.uk and make the verifiers aware so they can review the additional information provided.

How is 1st aid qualifications recorded on GO?

If you complete your 1st response, this will be recorded on GO as ‘1st response local training.’ This will also generate a course called ‘first aid’ The ‘first aid’ course will be the one that populates reports and will only show a valid to date once you’ve completed both your 1st response and 1st response e-learning.

For external first aid qualifications, these will sync over from the learning platform after they’ve been validated. These course will also show as ‘first aid’ Like with 1st response the ‘first aid’ course will be the one that populates reports and will only show a valid to date once you’ve completed both your external first aid course and 1st response e-learning. The valid to date will match the one on your certificate.

What do I do if I wish to appeal the decision on my external 1st response training?

There’s no formal appeal route for decisions made using the flow charts, but the lead volunteer for first response will review in the event of any complaint to check the process has been followed.

If it cannot be resolved with the 1st response lead volunteer, it will be escalated to our learning and development lead.
