Suffolk is part of Anglia region. Katherine West is currently County Commissioner.
Suffolk has one of the oldest recorded Guide units, Ist Southwold Guides, opened on 21st June 1910 and still a thriving unit today. In the same division the 1st Beccles Brownies were formed in 1918 and were one of the earliest Brownie packs. Historically Suffolk has buildings dating back to the early 15th century as well as Anglo Saxon burial grounds at Sutton Hoo. Recently Suffolk has become a more modern focal point as singer Ed Sheeran, who lives locally in Framlingham, wrote the song 'Castle on the Hill' about the local landmark Framlingham Castle. A visit to this castle and the surrounding area is well worth making, particularly as the castle played host to a Senior Section event in 2016 - a magnificent backdrop to an amazing event. Katherine West is the County Commissioner.
