When is Cityscapes and what is it?
Cityscapes Adventure is back for 2027! It will be taking place on 13 and 14 March across Brighton, Nottingham, Norwich, Carlisle and Belfast. A giant outdoor scavenger hunt across 5 different UK cities using an app called Goosechase. Complete themed activities, meet other guiding groups and see if you can climb your way to the top of the leaderboard!
What to expect
Every Cityscapes Adventure will be different. You might visit beaches, castles or museums. Do quick crafts. Go outside your comfort zone. Dive deep into historic landmarks. Find movie locations. Snap a pic of a famous building. Vlog your adventures. Race to finish as many activities at you can. At our Cityscapes Adventure, you'll do all of this and more! In 2027, you'll complete lots of different activities. You'll gather your favourite guiding group and set off on an adventure across 1 of 5 cities to complete as many activities as you can before the day ends! Earn badges, make friends, and see if you can climb your way to the top of the leaderboard.
The locations
Cityscapes is a nationwide event and although we would love our members to attend our Anglia event in Norwich, other locations are open to all and may be more suitable for groups.

Who can take part?
Any member of Girlguiding and the Trefoil Guild can attend. It's open to all ages - from Rainbows to Rangers and beyond. Sign up as a team or individual in whatever way works for you. That could be your guiding besties, your unit or your district, division or county.
Booking information
Tickets will go on sale on 14 October at 12pm. You'll get an email to the address you use for guiding. To make sure you receive the email, make sure you're opted into marketing communications in GO. Payment is made online at time of booking so it's a good idea to confirm the number of people coming with you as soon as you can. The price is £10 per person, which includes a badge, and there are no additional booking fees.

We’re excited to announce that we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the team for Cityscapes in Norwich, taking place on 13 and 14 March 2027!
This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved, try something different, meet other volunteers and help create an exciting and memorable experience for our members.

Qualifications and ratios
Like every outdoor adventure or day trip, you'll make sure you have the minimum number of required adults for taking girls outside of your usual meeting place, including:
Someone with up-to-date first response training.
At least 1 adult holding or working towards their leadership qualification.
At least 1 leader, assistant leader or leader in training with up-to-date safer guiding or safe space level 3.
Any adult with a role that requires it should have a current disclosure check. Any parent or adult helpers won’t need recruitment checks, but they must be always supervised by someone with a current disclosure check.
If you want to extend your Cityscapes Adventure as part of a sleepover, you’ll need to meet the usual requirements of planning a residential. That includes holding the relevant sections of the going away with scheme.
Forms to fill out
You'll need to collect consent forms for young members and set up a home contact system. As with any activity outside your normal meeting time and place, you'll also need to complete a risk assessment for the day.
Each city will have a risk assessment for the adventure in their area, but it’s important to have a personalised one for your travel plans and individual group needs too.
Team sizes
To make your day as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we recommend a maximum of 8 people per team. There's no maximum team size but try to think about how your group will move around the city. If you're travelling in a larger group, you should make sure you have the appropriate adult to young member ratios, especially when splitting into smaller teams to play different games.
Planning for transport, activities and weather
As volunteers, you'll be in charge of organising transport to and from the cities, as well as around the city once you're there. For information on trains, car parks and buses, check the visitor websites for each location.
It's an outdoor event so groups should be prepared for lots of walking between the different activities. All activities will go ahead as normal no matter the weather, unless there's a health and safety reason why they can't. Some venues will be indoors so there'll be an option to shelter from the weather if you need to.
On the day, you should wear:
An identifiable piece of uniform, like a t-shirt or necker.
Comfortable shoes.
A warm or waterproof jacket.
We also recommend you bring a water bottle, packed lunch, spending money and a phone charger or portable charging pack.
