A pair of engaging virtual sessions for existing assistant leaders who wish to work towards gaining the full Leadership qualification. You’ll need to be 18 years or older.
The aim of the session is to give assistant leaders the knowledge needed to go away and have a discussion with their mentor to complete all aspects of part 1 of module 4 of the Leadership Qualification.
Session 1, on Saturday 24 June 9:30am – 11am, will contain:

The sessions are interactive and engaging. You’ll have plenty of time to raise questions. We’ve held three of these courses now so it is likely this will be the last one before the LQ finishes in September 2023. If you need any support completing your module 4 before this deadline, do speak to your mentor in the first instance, your commissioner or email member.support@girlguiding-anglia.org.uk.
This course will be hosted on Zoom. Although we are not expecting any children, do think about your surroundings and what you are wearing or saying, as other people in other houses might be able to hear or see you. Guiding uniform or member’s wear is completely optional. Bookings are now open on Eventbrite via this link.
If there is anything we can do to support you to attend, please discuss it with us by emailing events@girlguiding-anglia.org.uk.
Please note that this is a joint training with both Girlguiding Anglia and Girlguiding South West England. Your booking is with Anglia so read our privacy policy for information on how your data will be shared.
This course is for people that have already completed their Leadership qualification with modules 1-3 but would like to add module 4. You will not complete the module by attending these sessions. However you will have the knowledge to discuss this with your mentor to get the clauses signed off.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a book or a mentor, you can still attend the sessions to help improve your knowledge, download module 4 here and speak to your commissioner about adding this module in the near future.
No, after September 2023, you can remain as an assistant leader if that suits you.
Girlguiding have suggested that after September 2023, there will be a way for assistant leaders to add to their qualification to become full leaders if they wish. We don’t know much about this at the moment but one option would be to complete the new leader development programme (LDP) on the learning platform.
No this is just one way to support you in completing module 4 of the Leadership qualification. You can also download the module and work through it with a commissioner or mentor or complete the full leader development programme via the route for existing members.
