16 hour outdoor first aid course

11 May 2024 in Windy Sayles Whipsnade, Bedfordshire and 29 June at Aston Rowant Nature Reserve, Stokenchurch

Age restrictions: 16+
This weekend will contain 2 days of essential training for those with outdoor activity qualifications. Instruction will take place on the hill with Bruce Petty of Invenio Training Ltd. Both days will run from 9am to 6pm and participants must attend on both days. The cost for this training will be £149.

Social walking

30 May – 2 June 2024 in Kirknewton, Northumberland

Age restrictions: 18+
This is a social event suitable for experienced and inexperienced navigators alike, ready for some relaxed social hillwalking. Walks will last for about 5 hours a day and will be organised with qualified leaders. For those that want it, level 2 navigation practice will also be possible. The cost for this trip will be £60 per person. This includes 3 nights in a Girlguiding bunkhouse and full catering aside from the Saturday night when you will have the choice of a pub dinner or self-catering.

Social walking

22 – 27 August 2024 in Rydal, Lake District

Age restrictions: 18+

This is a social event suitable for those with some navigation experience, who love mountains and are happy walking for 5 hours minimum. We will be aiming to support those completing level 3 and mountain leader logbooks. Easier lakeside or level 2 walks may also be possible, but will need to be self-lead. The cost for this trip will be £120-150 (depending on numbers) per person. This includes 5 nights in Rydal Hall bunkhouse and full catering, aside from 1-2 nights when you will have the choice of a pub dinner or self-catering.

Social walking or level 2 training and assessment

1 – 3 November 2024 in the Peak District

Age restrictions: 16+

This weekend will focus on the Girlguiding Walking Scheme level 1 and 2 training and assessments. For those who reach the final hurdle, there will also be a chance to complete the supported walk. The Water Safety module and night navigation trainings will also be available depending on demand. This weekend will include social walks in beautiful countryside lead by qualified leaders, providing a great opportunity to build up your logbooks. The cost for this trip will be approximately £130 for the training/assessment option, or just £70 for the social walking. Final prices will be confirmed closer to the time. Both options include 2 nights at Whiteley Wood OAC bunk house accommodation and full catering.
