Opening a new unit is exciting and we want to support you with that. Funding could cover the venue, craft items or training costs.
The Starting a New Unit Grant is for all of you who are starting up a new unit, whether brand-new or re-opened. Up to £500 available for start up items ranging from the first month’s rent to uniform and craft or activity items.
What does the funding cover?
The funding is granted after an individual assessment and includes general items ( up to £250 ) like first aid kit, promise badges, craft/activity items, games, Girlguiding programme resources and training costs. The remainder covers deposit for the venue and the first month’s rent.
How much funding is available?
Up to £500 in total. Applications can be submitted to Region office up to 90 days from the first meeting date. Please send to firstname.lastname@example.org
Who can apply?
Any new units who are registered on GO with girls showing as active, wait list – new or existing submitted. You’ll need to meet the requirements for unit size too, click here for more information
Remember there is a checklist on the last page. Make sure you tick as appropriate and ask your district commissioner to sign off before sending to us.
