“There is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for” – Samwise Gamgee, The Lord of the Rings

I
started working at Girlguiding in July 2019 after ten years in youth work
around the country, including a number of years in Anglia, giving me an
understanding of this unique area. I’m enjoying bringing my skills of running
and organising events with volunteers to a new context within Girlguiding. I
like the ethos and values of Girlguiding, and the unique experiences they offer
girls. I am naturally organised and like a clean inbox, and everything in its
proper place. I have responsibility for international trips, and as a keen
traveller I know the joy, excitement, and growth that comes from exploring the world
and discovering new cultures.

I
started running a couple of years ago and since then have run a number of 10k
races and even a half marathon, something I never thought I would do. I also
enjoy sewing, and often wear my me-made outfits to work. There is nothing
better than the feeling of wearing something I’ve made with my own hands. I
love to read, especially fantasy stories with strong female leads.

I would describe myself in the following three words: curious, creative, and conscientious.
